Description and Ecology:
Lion's Mane Mushrooms are an edible-and often culinary- mushroom characterized by it's unique crown of long, dangling white spines, giving it a distinctive "lion's mane" appearance. It typically grows in clusters on dead or wounded hardwoods primarily across North America, Europe and Asia. Lion's Mane has been used for centuries in both food and herbal remedies.
Turkey Tail Mushrooms can be found all over the world and are recognized by their vibrantly colored bands that resemble a turkey's tail. It grows predominately on decaying hardwood logs and stumps, playing a key ecological role as a white-rot decomposer. Traditionally used in Eastern medicine and holistic practices, Turkey Tail has been used for it's medicinal properties for centuries.
Cordyceps Mushrooms have a very unusual appearance compared to other mushrooms- they don't look like the typical cap-and-stem fungi. Normally orange or reddish-orange, slender with finger-like clubs, Cordyceps Militaris usually grow in clusters from grain or substrate in cultivation. Not to be confused with Cordyceos Sinensis, which is more commonly found in nature, growing out of insects. It has been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicina and in Tibetan and Himalayan herbal traditions.
Chaga Root is a fungus that grows mainly on birch trees in cold climates, such as, Siberia Russia, Northern Europe, Korea and Northern parts of America. It forms a woods, irregular growth on the tree's bark. Outside it looks like rough, burnt charcoal; inside it has a softer, orange-yellow texture. Chaga Root has been long used in fold medicine in Northern and Eastern Europe and Russia, for a variety of ailments.
Rhodiola Rosea is a perennial flowering herb that grows in cold, mountainous regions of Europe and Asia. It's roots and rhizome are the parts most commonly used for medicinal or supplemental properties. Rhodiola has a long history of use as a medicinal plant, aiding in endurance, strength and fatigue, especially in regions where it grows naturally, such as Russia, China and Scandinavia.
